Data from SeaWiFS, MERIS and MODIS are atmospherically corrected, then 'binned' into daily 4km resolution reflectance products. As each sensor has a different set of wavelength bands, the data is 'shifted' to a common set of wavelength bands: the SeaWiFS bands are currently used as reference sensor. Then, bias correction is performed by removing consistent biases between the datasets.
Therefore, the final OC-CCI reflectance products result from a weighted average of the binned, band shifted, and bias corrected input. Ocean products are then computed from various algorithms, including OC4v6 for Chlorophyll-a.
